The little-used roads south of Brisbane offer gorgeous scenery and challenging hills, finds Andrew Demack.  The rainforest around me is quiet, except for the erratically spaced but insistent ‘ping’ of a dozen bellbirds, which seem to come at me from all points of the compass. I’m on the Queensland–NSW border, on Lions Road, waiting at the turnoff for the Border Loop Lookout.
