Gearing Up For The 2025 Peaks Challenge

Share

Equivalent to a mountain stage of the Tour de France, the annual Peaks Challenge is a 235km ride with 4000+ metres of climbing and a 13-hour deadline.

Australia’s most revered annual cycling challenge, the 2025 event is on Sunday 9 March.

Starting and finishing at Falls Creek and set across three of the Victorian high country’s most famous climbs, you’ll tackle the ascents of Tawonga Gap, Mount Hotham and finally, ‘The Beast’ that is the back of Falls.

Mindset is key to conquering Peaks, while Tawonga Gap will have you saying “Allez, Allez” and Hotham will change your mantra to “Shut up legs”, the back of Falls will hit you like a tonne of bricks. With 200km in your legs, you’ll quickly learn why the first pinch is notorious among past Peaks riders. It’s a steep and relentless climb with little reprieve and is synonymous with the coaching words ‘Bang, bang, bang’ from Team Bicycle Network co-captain, Lee Turner.

You’re Not Alone

Bicycle Network will have your back with comprehensive on route-support and Team Bicycle Network’s wave leaders will set the pace to get you across the finish line in your goal time. The coveted finisher’s jersey is in reach!
