Final Countdown Until First Sea Otter Australia
The inaugural Sea Otter Australia (SOA) Festival is just over a week away, with the major bike industry event being held from October 22 to 26.
Held in and around Batemans Bay and the spectacular Mogo Trails, Sea Otter is known as ‘the ultimate hub for the international cycling community’, and it’s the first time the event has been held in Australia.
With a 30-year history in California, Sea Otter Australia will deliver a five-day, participation-focused festival that will attract over 2,000 athletes and an estimated 5,000 cycling enthusiasts from across Australia, North America, Europe, New Zealand, and South East Asia.
170 bike industry brands will be represented, delivering a US or European-level expo to Australian shores. More than a specific MTB event, Sea Otter Australia is for all enthusiasts and will include a range of activities for bike riders of all interests.

Something For Everyone
The festival, organised by locally-based cycling events promoter Rocky Trail Entertainment, is set up on a “participation first” ethos, encouraging everyone to actively be part of riding, racing and trying out products and exploring trails and the region.
“The arrival of Sea Otter on the NSW South Coast is a game-changer for Australian cycling,” said Juliane Wisata, CEO of Sea Otter Australia.
“We’re not just hosting a festival, we’re establishing a major international anchor event that puts the Mogo Trails and not just the Eurobodalla region but New South Wales and the emerging South Coast Cycling Destination on the global map,” he said.
“This is where world-class racing meets industry innovation, all built around a celebration of bicycles for all ages and abilities.”
